A closer look at source filtering

The public Gitdex product page explains how to run Gitdex from source. It is a static landing page, not a hosted inventory or a place to enter a GitHub token.

    Actual frontend, fictional data

These light and dark captures come from Gitdex’s unmodified Solid frontend running locally against a disposable loopback API. The two owners, four repositories, .example.test links, health scores, and staleness values are synthetic fixtures. No valid GitHub token was used, and the capture did not contact GitHub or exercise provider discovery and sync. The filter UI is real; the records in it are not.

Annotated Gitdex Inventory study with fictional lab repositories and visible synthetic, no-GitHub-sync labels
An annotated poster study assembled from real filtered Inventory pixels. Its repository and health data are fictional; final cover approval is still open.
Gitdex Dashboard rendering two fictional repositories from a local fixture API
The real Dashboard rendered with fictional sources and fixture-supplied figures. This is not evidence of a successful GitHub sync.
Gitdex Inventory showing two fictional personal repositories before selecting an organization source
Before choosing a source: the Inventory shows the fixture's two personal rows.
Gitdex Inventory source filter set to fictional-lab with two fictional organization repositories
After choosing organization: fictional-lab, the real frontend displays its two fixture rows.
A five-second, silent edited sequence of actual browser frames in each theme, not uninterrupted real-time footage or a final narrated release film.

Provider identity across repository rename or transfer and incomplete sync metadata remain product work. Cartesia narration, Remotion light and dark release films, timed captions, and final poster approval are still open.

    Stack analysis and evolution

Gitdex learned to look inside your repos this milestone.

    • Deep stack analysis — per-app frameworks and backend/frontend breakdown.
    • Evolution module — commit timeline, contribution calendar, cross-repo Gantt, releases/versions, first-commit, and a commit browser.
    • Server-side filtering / pagination and a categories & tags management UI.
    • Honors a configurable attention threshold and health weights, surfaces repo metadata, and adds error/empty states.
Gitdex connect screen: enter a GitHub personal access token to inventory your repositories
The connect screen — the inventory dashboard, stack analysis, and evolution views render once a GitHub token is provided.

    Foundation

The first cut of Gitdex: a digital repository inventory with health scoring, GraphQL enrichment, and light/dark theme support. The toolchain was migrated to Bun + tsgo and dependencies were upgraded.
